Advice for life

In a letter to the people of Canada just before dying of cancer, Jack Layton, the leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party, offered these words (I cribbed them from a column by Father Ron Rolheiser):

Love is better than anger.

Hope is better than fear.

Optimism is better than despair.

So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic.
